Orchids at Palm Court, Ohio's only AAA Five-Diamond restaurant, is seeking a trained and knowledgeable wine professional, who specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing.
Specialize in all aspects of wine service including pairings.
Presence in the room and at the tables; recognizing repeat guests, VIP’s, etc.
Promote wine and beverage sales for Orchids and Catering functions.
Enhance the guests experience through wine and food knowledge.
Develop wine lists, and book wine service and delivery.
Conduct training for other restaurant staff.
Work along with the culinary team, pairing and suggesting wines that will complement each particular food menu item.
Work within the taste preference and budget parameters of the patron.
Direct inventory levels to ensure efficiency and proper par levels.
Work in harmony with the Maitre D' to assist with floor management.
Extensive knowledge of wine/beverage with the ability to pair food.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.
Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
Certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers is required.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
